1. Hot rolling of molybdenum plate

Hot rolling is done on a 650mm wide rolling mill with intermediate annealing in a hydrogen shield furnace.


As the size of cold rolled molybdenum sheet is 0.4 ~ 0.5×700 ~ 800×2000 ~ 3000mm, it is necessary to increase the size of hot rolled slab.


In order to roll a suitable cold rolled molybdenum plate, two schemes are adopted for hot rolling, namely primary commutative rolling and secondary commutative rolling. The thickness of rolled molybdenum plate is between 2.9 mm and 3.1mm, and the surface quality of hot rolled plate is good.


2. Cold rolling of wide molybdenum plate

Molybdenum plate with width of 400 ~ 510mm is carried out on a cold rolling mill with width of 550mm, while molybdenum plate with width of 700 ~ 800mm is carried out on a four-roll reversing cold rolling mill with width of 1200mm.


Because of its high molybdenum slab specifications and guarantee the corresponding product size, must take the reversing rolling during cold rolling, based on past experience, appear easily in the molybdenum plate in cold rolling the reversing rolling head machining defects such as peeling, layered, in order to guarantee the smooth wide cold rolling process of molybdenum plate, should as far as possible to reduce or overcome the phenomenon such as peeling, layered head. Through the cold rolling tests of various deformation modes and different processing rates, we found that only part of the molybdenum plate rolled by the technological system had good surface quality and no obvious defect forms, while most of the molybdenum plate rolled by the technological system had cracked edges or peeling and lamination at the head and tail.
