It is reported that the research team led by Chaoyang Wang, a tenured professor at Penn State University in the US, has successfully developed "lithium ion battery with self-heating function at low temperature". The application of nickel foil is expected to solve the major technical problems of power loss and non-charging of lithium ion battery at low temperature. 

In this regard, analysts said that the application of nickel material not only solves the practical application problem of new energy vehicles in the alpine region, but also solves the corresponding cost problem. Therefore, once this technology achieves mass production, it will further activate the potential market scale of new energy vehicles.
