Tantalum foil can be used in a solid electrolytic capacitor with large capacity, small volume ,it has stable performance for radar, missiles, supersonic aircraft and electronic computers. Tantalum can also produce petrochemical heat exchangers, heaters, concentrators and reactors, troughs, towers, pipes and valves. it is also used as electron transmitting tube and high power electron tube part material.

   Tantalum alloy can be used in a supersonic aircraft combustion chamber ,heat-resistant and high-strength material. Tantalum-tungsten alloy missile nozzles still have strength of 8kg/mm2 at 1650 ~C.Tantalum carbide can be used alone or in conjunction with other carbides as a coating for forging dies, cutting tools, jet engine turbine blades, valves, and rocket nozzles. The hardness is almost the same as that of diamond. It is widely used in the manufacture of cemented carbide.Tantalum is also stable and healing with human tissues. It can be used as a surgical patch material and artificial bone. It can also be used as a bone plate, screw, bar and suture needle.
