The Use Of Tungsten (1)

2024-01-05 18:00:06

The effect of tungsten on the properties of steel was discovered in 1750s. However,Tungsten steel began to produce and widely used in the late nineteenth Century and early twentieth Century.

High speed steel was first exhibited at the Paris world exhibition in 1900.Therefore, the extraction industry of tungsten has been developing rapidly since then. The appearance of this steel marks the significant technological progress in the field of metal cutting. Tungsten is the most important alloy element.

In 1900, Russian inventors first suggested the use of tungsten in lighting bulbs. In 1909, it is possible for tungsten to be widely used in electric vacuum technology, based on the method of powder metallurgy and the process of pressure processing.

In 1927~1928, tungsten carbide was used as the main component to develop cemented carbide, which is an important stage in the development history of tungsten. These alloys are superior to the best tool steels in all aspects, and have been widely used in modern technology.

Tungsten YISHION metal state and alloy system are widely used in modern technology. Alloy steel, tungsten carbide based hard alloy, wear-resistant and strong hot alloy are the most important in the alloy system state. Tungsten is mainly used in the following industrial fields.

Most of the iron and steel industry is used for the production of special steel. Widely used high-speed steel contains 9%~24% tungsten, 3.8%~4.6% chromium, 1%~5% vanadium, 4%~7% cobalt and 0.7%~1.5% carbon. High speed steel is characterized by a high tempered tempering temperature (700~800 C) in the air, which can be quenched automatically, so it keeps high hardness and wear resistance until 600~650 C. Tungsten steel in alloy tool steel contains tungsten 0.8%~1.2%; chromium tungsten silicon steel contains 2%~2.7% tungsten; chromium tungsten steel contains tungsten 2%~9%; chromium tungsten manganese steel contains tungsten 0.5%~1.6%. Tungsten containing steel is used to make various tools, such as drill bits, milling cutters, wire drawing dies, female die and male die, gas support tools and other parts. Tungsten magnetic steel is a permanent magnet steel containing tungsten, 0.68%~0.78% carbon and 0.3%~0.5% chromium containing 5.2%~6.2%. Tungsten cobalt magnetic steel contains 11.5%~14.5% tungsten, 5.5%~6.5% molybdenum and 11.5%~12.5% cobalt hard magnetic materials. They have high magnetization and coercive magnetic force.
