1. keeping
Tungsten and molybdenum products are easily oxidized and discolored. They must be kept in an environment with humidity below 60%, temperature below 28 C and isolation from other chemicals.
Tungsten and molybdenum products are soluble in water and acid. Please pay attention!
2. Pollution embrittlement
(1) at high temperature (close to the melting point of metal), it will react with other metals (iron and its alloys, nickel and its alloys, etc.) and sometimes make the material embrittlement, and should be paid attention to during the heat treatment of tungsten and molybdenum products.
Heat treatment should be carried out in vacuum (below 10-3Pa), reduction (H2) or inert gas (N2, Ar, etc.).
(2) the reaction between tungsten and molybdenum products and carbon will embrittlement, so do not touch when heat treatment is carried out at temperatures above 800 C. However, the molybdenum products are less than 1500 degrees, and the embrittlement degree due to carbonization is very small.
3. Mechanical processing
(1) The bending, punching, shearing and cutting of tungsten-molybdenum sheet products are liable to produce cracks at room temperature and need to be heated. At the same time, due to improper processing, sometimes there will be stratification, so it is recommended to use heating process.
(2) however, when the molybdenum plate is heated above 1000 C, it will embrittate and cause difficulty in processing.
(3) when grinding tungsten and molybdenum products, the grinding method suitable for various occasions must be selected.
4, oxide removal method
(1) the tungsten molybdenum products have the characteristics of oxidizing easily. If you want to remove heavy oxides, please entrust the company or use strong acid (fluoric acid, nitric acid, hydrochloric acid, etc.) to handle the operation.
(2) mild oxides should be cleaned with abrasives, wipe with soft cloth or sponge, and then rinse with warm water.
(3) however, the finished products will lose their metallic luster.
5. Use of attention
(1) Tungsten-molybdenum sheets are as sharp as knives, the burrs on the corners and ends are dangerous to cut hands. When using products, please wear protective equipment.
(2) the density of tungsten is about 2.5 times of iron and the density of molybdenum is about 1.3 times than that of iron. The actual weight is much heavier than the appearance, so it may hurt people during manual handling. It is recommended that manual operation be made as far as possible below 20KG weight.
6. Handling matters
Tungsten and molybdenum products are brittle metals, which are prone to cracking and delamination; therefore, when transporting, pay attention not to impact and vibration, such as falling.
In addition, when bundling, please fill in the shock absorbing material
