What Is Refractory Metal?

       The so-called refractory metal, generally refers to the melting point higher than 1650 degrees or simply, the melting point is higher than the white gold (Pt) and has a certain reserve of metal (the following diagram is the melting point of the metal curve).These metals include tungsten, tantalum, molybdenum, niobium, hafnium, chromium, vanadium, zirconium, rhenium and technetium. The refractory metals used to manufacture high temperature structural materials above 1093 C (2000 degree F) are mainly tungsten, molybdenum, tantalum and niobium.

      In nature, tungsten and molybdenum exist mainly in the combined state. For example, molybdenum exists in the form of MoS2, Mo-gloss and PbMoO4, and most of them are associated minerals. Tungsten exists in the form of (Fe, Mn) WO4, CaWO4 and Wolframite Wolframite. The distribution of these minerals is not uniform.
