Russia To Auction The Chaskoye Copper-nickel Deposit In The Republic Of Buryatia

According to news from NEDRADV website on September 8, 2020, the Russian Federal Underground Resources Administration plans to auction the Chaskoye copper-nickel deposit (Чайское) in the Republic of Buryatia.

The project has been included in the list of planned development projects. The auction is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2020 and will be organized by the Far Eastern Federal District Underground Resources Administration. The specific auction date has not yet been determined.

The bidding documents show that as of May 7, 2019, the Chaskoye project has discovered 193,500 tons of copper resources, 627,700 tons of nickel, and 26,900 tons of cobalt. The Chaskoye project plot is 60 kilometers away from the Holodning polymetallic deposit (Холоднин). Due to its location in the central ecological zone of Lake Baikal, the Holodning project was revoked in November 2017.

In addition, in the fourth quarter of this year, the Trans-Baikal region will auction off the Kia-Bezimiani Valley placer gold project (Кия-Безымянный), which holds 65 kg of placer gold reserves; Sverdlovsk region will The Cedar Placer Gold Project (Кедровую) is auctioned, and the mine has 601 kg of placer gold reserves.
