The production of tantalum foils is generally carried out by press-forming of metallurgical grade niobium powder and high-temperature sintering by vacuum high-temperature furnace.The production in China began in 1957. In 1960s, the industrial production was gradually selected, smelted and processed. The initial production scale, technical level, product grade and quality condition were far from the developed countries. Since 1990, China's tantalum industry has developed rapidly and has reached the international level.
With the development of tantalum production technology and the application field, tantalumas a certain brand of Superalloy additives, which has played a very good alloying effect. Ta is an important constituent element in single crystal superalloys, which have an important effect on the main properties of superalloys. In 70s and 80s, the United States developed many kinds of superalloys with tantalum addition and put them into operation. Most of these superalloys are used as turbine blades and nozzle directional blades in jet engines, which play a very important role in promoting the development of aero-engines. Domestic production enterprises gradually absorb and develop such alloys, in Beijing Institute of Aeronautical Materials, Steel Research Institute of high sodium, CAS Institute of Metals and other units have been mass production.
At present, the amount of tantalum strip is increasing as the state ,it attaches importance to aviation superalloys. At the same time, as tantalum and tantalum alloy production of raw materials, tantalum strip production and trading volume has also increased dramatically. However, there is no corresponding standard specification in the production and transaction , the enterprise standard, technical agreement are adopted, and the enterprise standard is not uniform enough. Therefore, it is necessary to make a special standard . The development of tantalum bar special standard should take into consideration the development in China. The status quo in which the standard content strive to play a role in guiding and promoting production.
