  The development and utilization of tungsten ore in China are mainly wolframite and scheelite. Scheelite reserves are large, but rich ores are few, grade is low, and refractory ores are more, so the exploitation amount only accounts for about 10% of the tungsten mineral production. Wolframite reserves are less than scheelite, but rich ores are more, and easy to be mined and screened, so the total amount of exploitation accounts for more than 90% of the mineral production. Tungsten concentrating methods are mainly as follows:

 

   _Gravity separation: A method of separating ores according to mineral density difference in a certain medium or medium flow (mainly water). The advantages of the method are simple structure, easy operation and low production cost. The common gravity separation processes include dense medium selection, jigging, shaking table selection, chute selection and centrifugal separation.

 

   Flotation: It is one of the most widely used mineral processing methods. It is a method of separating useful minerals from ores according to the different physical and chemical properties of mineral particles. The flotation method is suitable for fine and fine materials and other mineral processing methods which are difficult to recover the fine ore particles less than 10 microns. The United Carbide Company of the United States has developed a "lime method" for the flotation of scheelite, and shear flocculation flotation has also been used in some factories for the flotation of scheelite.

  The magnetic separation is a method of removing magnetic metal impurities in oil by magnetic force. The application of magnetic separation is the separation process under the action of magnetic force and other forces by utilizing the magnetic differences of various ores or materials.

   Cleaning method: a method of separating minerals according to their density. The sand sample is placed in a washing tray with water, which is oscillated repeatedly, stirred and washed. The heavy minerals are left at the bottom of the tray, and the light minerals are drifted out with water, thus separating the light and heavy minerals.

   In China, wolframite is mainly concentrated by gravity with recovery of 92-93%. Flotation and magnetic separation are also used in some cases. According to the characteristics of ore leaching, scheelite is concentrated by gravity and flotation, single flotation or washing. Some of them are pre-enriched by ultraviolet fluorescence sorting machine. Half of the waste rock is selected from the original ore and then beneficiated. The recovery rate of scheelite is 90-96%.
