Tantalum has a very hard texture and a hardness of 6-6.5. Its melting point is as high as 2996 C, second only to tungsten and rhenium and osmium, ranking fourth.Tantalum is ductile ,it can be drawn into thin wire foil. Its coefficient of thermal expansion is very small. Tantalum expands only 6.6 parts per million for every one degree Celsius rise.In addition, its toughness is very strong, even better than copper.
Tantalum has good toughness, brittle fracture will not occur, and failure due to vibration and impact.Among refractory metals, tantalum has a special property that it can be machined at room temperature. The processing technology of many refractory metals (such as molybdenum and tungsten) is very complex, because they are very brittle at room temperature and must be processed at high temperature, while there is a problem of thermal oxidation at high temperature.Tantalum metal exhibits good ductility at room temperature or even lower temperatures, so there is no need to worry about its oxidation during processing. Tantalum also has good thermal conductivity, so tantalum can be easily processed into parts of various sizes and shapes. Among refractory metals, low temperature plasticity of tantalum is the best.
Today we will briefly introduce the tantalum screw made of tantalum and its alloy. It is worth mentioning that the physical and chemical properties of tantalum screw are similar to those of tantalum metal and its alloy. It has all the excellent properties of tantalum and can replace the screw used in all walks of life.
Mainly used in (1) strongly corrosive environmental chemistry and pharmaceutical industry, highly resistant to the corrosion of hydrochloric acid, nitric acid, phosphoric acid, strong organic acid, bromine and its mixture; (2) steel smelting industry, can withstand the high temperature of 3000 degrees; (3) aerospace industry, used for aircraft parts fastening and so on.
