What Are The USES Of Tungsten Bars?

2024-01-05 18:00:06

1. Turning tool head for processing, tungsten wire for lighting equipment and various heat conductors

2. The manufacture of advanced automobile crankshaft, cylinder barrel batching, casting various heat resistant steel batching

3. It is widely used in firearms, artillery, rockets, satellites, aircraft, ship

Tungsten bars include tungsten rods, tungsten steel rods, and sintered tungsten rods, which are mainly used to forge components into materials, cutters and warheads, tungsten wires for light bulbs, electric contact points and thermal conductors, tungsten wire barrels for crankshafts and cylinders, and various components of heat-resistant steel. Doped tungsten strips are used in the production of filament or tube filament, which guarantees significant high temperature resistance. Pure tungsten is a natural metal mined from the ground. In its original form, pure tungsten is very brittle.

Preparation method:

1) Preparation of doped tungsten powder: original tungsten (WO2.9) powder and mixed solution of H2SiO3 containing SIO2:0.2-0.6wt % and K2O: 0.2-0.6wt % H2SiO3 and KOH and Al (NO3)3 solution containing Al2O3:0.02-0.1wt % were placed in the agitator according to the weight percentage of tungsten powder.

2) Reduction treatment: the doped tungsten powder was placed in a boat at a temperature of 500~950℃ and in a hydrogen atmosphere for reduction treatment for 8~12 hours. After cooling, the doped tungsten powder was screened for 100~200 mesh to obtain the doped tungsten powder.

3) Pickling: first, dilute hydrochloric acid with a concentration of 3~6wt% was used to pickling the doped tungsten powder for 30~60 minutes, then the supernatant was removed, followed by hydrofluoric acid with a concentration of 3~6wt%. The Si content in the powder was ≤250ppm, and Al content ≤30 PPM.

4) Blank pressing: the powder obtained from 3 treatments is pressed under the pressure of 150~250MPa to make doped tungsten blank bar;

5) Pre-sintering: the pressed strips are placed in a boat dish and sintered in a hydrogen atmosphere and temperature of 1100~1400℃ for 30~60 minutes;

6) Vertical melting and sintering: the pre-sintered slab is placed in a vertical furnace. After 10 to 25 minutes of drooping sintering under the condition of hydrogen atmosphere and 70 to 92% current strength of the melting current, the non-dense potassium-tungsten strip is obtained along with the furnace cooling.

7) Indirect sintering: the tungsten bars from the 6th process are placed in the intermediate frequency furnace or tungsten bar furnace and sintered for 2 to 6 hours under the hydrogen atmosphere and the temperature of 2000~2300℃. After the furnace is cooled, the target material tungsten bars containing potassium are obtained.
